The School of Frontier Missions (SOFM) is an overview of and preparation for long-term, cross-cultural missions to least-evangelized peoples. It has some specific skill training, usually cross-cultural adjustment and culture and language learning during the initial three-month course that is developed further during the subsequent field assignment.
The Topics
Broadly, the SOFM covers the biblical and historical foundations for missions, intercultural communication, missions strategy, and personal and team relationships. The course may also address aspects of the worker’s personal relationship with God, interpersonal relationships, leadership and authority, team building and team dynamics, and developing and relating with a prayer/financial support team.
Our Focus
The SOFM focuses on unreached people groups among Muslims, Hindus, Tribals, Chinese, Buddhist and Tribals. It trains workers for living and ministering among unreached people groups with church planting as a key strategy in discipling new converts.
Field Assignment
The SOFM has a two-year field assignment.
