Introduction to Business as Mission (iBAM)

iBAM classroom

The Introduction to Business As Mission (iBAM) Course is designed to take men and women with a call to business and mission and equip them on their journey to become cross-cultural entrepreneurs for the Kingdom of God.  iBAM is for those exploring business as mission more deeply, for those preparing to launch and for those building a stronger foundation for their current business as mission operations.

iBAM Explore

iBAM Explore is a 3 week course for those seriously investigating business as mission and for business and mission leaders who want a foundational understanding of the topic.

iBAM Prepare

iBAM Prepare is a longer 5 week course for those who are preparing to launch a business or for practitioners looking for further equipping. The focus of weeks 4 and 5 is on personal business coaching, developing business plans and business skills workshops, as well as continued classroom teaching.

We believe that success in business as mission is  greatly enabled by strong foundations in a number of areas, including:  cross-cultural understanding, personal character development, spiritual  maturity, personal management skills and yes – sound business skills!   iBAM is proud to offer great classroom teaching,  however we do not stop there… We want to encourage whole-person  development, through a broad range of processes: discussion, workshops,  group coaching, business visits, a 5 day field trip, 1-on-1 coaching sessions and others.

We also run shorter seminars and iBAM Impact 3-day intensive courses in other locations at other times of the year. Follow us on Twitter to receive notifications of new course locations and dates.

Next Course Dates:

iBAM Impact USA: 4-6 November 2011 – Denver, USA

iBAM Explore/Prepare: 11 February to 3/16 March 2012 – Chiang Mai, Thailand

“iBAM has really been a gift from God to us. We got many of the necessary tools for starting a business as mission company in Uruguay. It is great to have the ‘Prepare’ focus for the longer course because not only did we get the foundations we needed, we were also practically equipped in the basics of starting a business from zero.” iBAM 2010 Participant

iBAM Courses are hosted by the YWAM Business as Mission Team in partnership with many other organisations, teachers and business coaches.  iBAM participants come from a variety of backgrounds: some with business or professional experience, some from YWAM or other mission organisations and some with cross-cultural or development experience.  Please contact us if you have questions about iBAM training opportunities.
